Information for prospective employees

The City employs people who can legally work in Australia. These include:
  • Australian citizens
  • New Zealand citizens
  • Permanent residents
  • Temporary residents with permission to work.
The City checks candidate’s eligibility to work in Australia during the recruitment process.

Candidates who progress through the recruitment process must also:
  • Provide details of two referees who can be contacted by the City
  • Provide a National Police Certificate issued within three months prior to your appointment
  • Attend a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Provide 100 proof of ID points
  • Provide a copy of driver's licence
  • Provide academic qualifications, licences or other documents specified in the relevant position description.

A Code of Conduct is an important document for the City as it provides the overarching guidance for all employees on how they are expected to conduct themselves whilst working at the City. The City’s Employee Code of Conduct assists and guides employees in determining the appropriate and acceptable ethical standards of behaviour which apply in various circumstances. It ensures all City employees, volunteers, contractors and consultants act in the best interests of our community, upholding a high standard of ethical behaviour.
